Sarah Toomey (BSc Dip NT) – Nutritional Therapist
As a qualified nutritional therapist, I see my role as helping people better understand how nutrients, food and lifestyle factors influence how their body functions – this involves assessing and identifying potential nutritional imbalances and creating simple, attainable action plans to drive overall health improvement.
Rather than a pure focus on symptoms, nutritional therapy puts the individual at the centre of a scientific and rational approach to health improvement – each person is unique and derives significant benefit from a dedicated and personally-tailored programme which evolves as the individual moves through their various life stages.
Nutritional Therapy is acknowledged as a complementary medicine, with a range of highly beneficial attributes: supporting chronic conditions such as cancer as well a broad spectrum of health and wellbeing issues such as IBS, eczema, anxiety, asthma, fertility, menopause and digestive issues to name but several. It also represents a fantastic way to boost your overall vitality and energy levels.
How are my appointments structured?
I will spend the initial appointment discussing your symptoms, your health history linked to all the systems of your body (up to 90 minutes for an adult and up to 60 minutes for a child). I will also take into account your current food preferences/likes/dislikes.
Following your appointment I will spend at least two hours researching and creating your own tailor-made nutrition plan based on the info gleaned during your initial appointment. This will be emailed to you and you can discuss this over the phone with me if you have queries.
A follow-up appointment is advised 6-8 weeks after your initial in order for us to establish what is working well and to discuss progressing the plan to the next stage based on any improvements or new priorities/symptoms.
Please call me if you would like a 10 minute phone call to discuss your needs prior to booking a consultation.
